GIL BAKHTIAR

ORIGIN AND CAREER

Gil Bakhtiar, a French architect and interior designer of Persian origin, draws his inspiration from both his cultures. The combination of his Oriental refinement and his Western rigour enables him to create a personalised universe, excluding any systematisms, in which airiness and warmth, lines and curves mingle in perfect harmony. Gil Bakhtiar is the one who materialises the mental universe of the occupants of a house, an office or a shop, the one who, after having purified the site of all anecdotal elements, relics of its inhabitants’ “being”, unveils its quintessence.

FROM THE ARCHITECTURAL PROJECT TO THE FINAL DETAIL

A man imbued with blends, Gil Bakhtiar invites and creates the contrasts which he likes to (re)conciliate. Classic and modern, simple and sophisticated, baroque or understated, he likes to reinvent (himself). Creating useful and beautiful objects, rethinking volumes, catching the light, conceiving a custom-designed atmosphere regardless of the spirit of the place (private, commercial, dedicated to events), such is the approach to and meaning of a project.
